Friday Favorites

Favorite Book: The Princess

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE to read. I don’t have much time to read (for fun) during the school year, but in the summer, I read about a book a day. My grandmother has an impressive library at her house with a lot of Christian novels. One of my favorite Christian authors is Lori Wick, the author of The Princess. I read this book about five years ago, and ever since then, it has been my go-to book when I have nothing else to read. I have probably read it over 20 times now. It is a perfect modern fairytale and I don’t think I will ever tire of reading it.

Favorite Music Video: “The Story of Us

Taylor Swift released a new music video!! This song is my favorite on her most recent album. She is just so stinkin’ adorable. She is so talented with telling a story and making you feel like you’re right there watching it happen. If you haven’t seen it yet, click on the title above and WATCH IT NOW!!

Favorite Shoe: Nike Free Run+

I bought these shoes in the last weeks of school and I think I have worn them almost every day since. I was a little iffy about them at first but I love them now. They are super bright and really cute. Surprisingly, they go with a lot of my clothes. If you’re looking for some great running shoes (or just tennis shoes in general), check out this kind. They are really light-weight and comfortable…perfect for the summer! And if you are not a fan of fun, bright colors, let not your heart be troubled! They come in many boring colors, as well.

Favorite Video:
You get it, girl.

I feel like this whole post was advertisement for different products. Read this book…watch this video...buy these shoes…I should be in advertising. Psych! I would be awful at selling stuff. I’ll just stick with teaching.

Try not to party too hard this weekend. Happy Friday!

Random Ramblings

I have some sad news...Chelsea came in third place on Dancing with the Stars. Boo! But the good news is Hines Ward is the new champ! While I was obviously disappointed Chelsea didn't win, I'm super excited Hines took home the trophy. He even thanked the Bulldog Nation for their support. Go Dawgs! Way to rep for UGA, Hines.

In other news, I'm ready for the beach. There's nothing like laying out all day listening to the waves (with sunscreen of course). Anybody else craving some sand and sun???

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! Guess what? I have decided to start a Friday tradition. I saw this idea (and super cute button) on this blog and figured it’s a great way to keep track of how my favorite things change from week to week. So here we go!

Favorite Song: Brandon Heath “Your Love

Zeb told me about this song yesterday and I have been listening to it on repeat ever since. Not only do I love the melody and the beat, but the words are great, too. They’re very simple but filled with truth. Check it out by clicking on the title above. You won’t regret it.

Favorite Person: Lauren Conrad.

I absolutely adore Lauren Conrad. I’ve watched every episode of The Hills, read all of her books, and check her blog almost every day. (She does Friday Favorites, too. What a coincidence!) Go ahead…call me obsessed. But she is just so cute! I recently bought her style book and it is full of great ideas and tips. Check it out for yourself!

Favorite Flower: Sunflowers

I just can’t get enough. At the moment I have sunflowers as my computer desktop at work and as my iPod background. I’m also thinking about using sunflowers in my wedding (Don't worry...it’ll be a while before I get married…but you know how girls like to plan these things). Right now I’m thinking a single, long stem yellow sunflower for each of the bridesmaids and a bouquet of different colored sunflowers for the bride. What do you think?

This bouquet includes orange dahlias,
sunflowers and sunset-colored roses
.

Favorite Movie: “Water for Elephants”

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you are missing out! I saw this with Kristen for a break during finals week and we fell in love. Not only was the story line great, but Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson weren’t too shabby either. I have yet to read the book but I bet it is just as good (if not better) than the movie. As of right now, I’m number 64 on the waiting list at my library. People need to read faster!!

Kristen took a picture of this
ad in Spain. Looks just
as good in Spanish!

Favorite Verse: Psalm 9:10b

I shared this in the last post but it’s still my favorite at the moment. Beth Moore shared it on her blog on Tuesday. It’s very short, but so full of hope and promise. I love how the Bible can get your attention with just a few words!

The verse as posted in
Beth's kitchen.

So there you go…a few of my favorite things! Side note: That makes me think of “The Sound of Music”, which just happens to be another one of my favorite movies. Gotta love Julie Andrews!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Inspired by Kristen

My best friend and former roommate, Kristen, is in Spain right now on a study abroad program. She is writing a blog to inform us about her trip (you can see it here) and it got me thinking maybe I should start one, too!

I’ve been out of school for almost two weeks now and I am still waiting to move into my new apartment. Long story. Basically, they had to do an ozone treatment and it seems they are just dragging their feet. My brother, Zeb, and I are living together this year and I am SUPER excited. We’ve been like best friends for as long as I can remember so this year is going to be so much fun. You never know what Zeb is going to do; he’s a wild one! His best friend Will is going to be spending a lot of time with us this summer so yay for being surrounded by boys!! Don’t worry…I’m used to it (I did grow up with three brothers after all).

Zeb and me at a UGA game this year

Speaking of boys, my other two younger brothers got a puppy about a month ago and he is so cute!! Everyone, say hello to Copper! He wanted to be in the formal pictures with Zeb so of course he had to get a bow tie. So cute!

He is growing like crazy! He's the sweetest dog and is super jealous of your attention. We have little kittens at our house as well and he hates for us to pet them. He will whine just like a baby if you play with them instead of giving him attention. He also really loves to chase them, as you can see in this picture. I got this photo right before they both started running.

He has now learned to shake, which is precious. I’m sure he’ll get sick of it pretty soon considering we ask him to do it all the time. We really do need to teach him another trick.

Once the apartment is finished, I’ll post pictures of before and after. I can’t wait to start decorating!! I’ll leave you with a verse I came across this morning that is just awesome:
“…for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
                                Psalm 9:10b

Happy Wednesday!!
