So long for now

Well today is the day. I fly back to Europe tonight. This trip is a bit shorter...just three months.

Honestly I'm not wanting to go right now. I have loved being home with my family and friends. It's tough to leave them again. I also know what I'm going to be doing when I get back. Which makes me want to just stay here and get started on my life. It's a weird feeling I have right now. Of course I want to go to Europe. I mean, I'd be stupid not to take this awesome opportunity. But it's tough to leave. I never thought I'd be sad about going to Europe, but I guess there's a first time for everything!

On a related note, I hope we can even make it to the airport. Atlanta interstates are gridlocked. My flight leaves at 9:30 tonight but we're planning to leave my house a little after lunch. Would I be sad if I missed my flight? Nope. Buttttt I don't want to deal with the hassle of finding another. So let's just pray we make it to the airport safe and on time!

**Update: I'm safely at the airport and my parents are safe at home! Those Atlanta roads are crazy!**

America, you've been good to me. Can't wait to get back to you. 90 days. I can do it.

September 11 is a day that will be forever changed.

I am so proud to be an American. This is something that I've learned time and again during my time overseas. I feel so blessed to be a citizen of such an amazing country.

I'm so thankful for all the men and women who risk their lives everyday defending this nation and our liberties. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones on this day 12 years ago.

May we never forget.

And may God bless America.

Happy Fourth!!

While I'm stuck in Spain (bummer, right?!), my family is all in Florida.

We have a yearly tradition of going to the beach for two weeks right around this time of year.

Celebrating the Fourth of July on the ocean is the best way to do it.

Cal's girlfriend has been sending me pictures to help me share in their fun.

{really it's just making me jealous}

I'm extremely grateful for this experience I've been given, but it's hard not to miss my family on major holidays. I'm wishing I was parked in a chair in front of the ocean reading a book and soaking up the sun!

While I'm here watching after two crazy boys, I hope y'all are enjoying time with family and friends!

So thankful for the freedom we have in America and for the people who fight for us everyday!

Remember, you can't complain about who wins unless you participate!

Go exercise your right to vote.

A lot of people in this world don't have that opportunity.

Don't take it for granted!

I'm so thankful to live in this free country where my voice is heard.

Don't let the weather stop you from getting out.

It's raining and cold here but standing in line is so worth it!

Never Forget

It's hard to believe it has been 11 years. In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday that I was in my fifth grade class, watching the t.v. with horror as the Twin Towers fell. Our administration told teachers not to let us see the news, but my teacher felt it was important. I'm so glad she let us watch history happening. That day changed America forever. I'll never forget how everyone bonded together after that tragedy.

Today, I'm praying for those families affected by that day. I'm praying for our country that we'll be united and that God will continue to bless us. And I'm extremely grateful for those who fight for our freedom everyday.

It's 11-11-11!!!

I had never heard of the whole wish thing until I was a freshman in college.

But once someone told me about it, I never looked back.

"11:11 make a wish!"

It's engrained in my head.

Today is also special because it's Veterans Day!!

Thank you to the men and women who fought, and continue to fight, for our freedom.

Freedom is not free and I am so thankful to those who lay down their lives for us everyday.
