Did anybody else just think of Rebecca Black? Darn that ridiculous song!
I can't believe July is almost over already!
Here are some of my favorites this week:

Favorite New Movie: Monte Carlo
I saw this last night with Allie. So cute! Definitely a fun summer movie for girls. And can I just say, they picked some great girls for the cast. Love them!

Romans 8:26

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."
Romans 8:26 NIV

I cannot tell you how many times this verse has comforted me in the past two days alone. There have been many things going on in my life where I was confused on how to pray. In one situation, it felt as if I had prayed so many times that I had nothing left to say. In another situation, I honestly had no idea what I should say.

Isn't it amazing that our precious Savior knows exactly what we need even without us saying anything? To serve a God like that just blows my mind.

No matter what you are going through right now, Jesus knows your heart and knows what you need. Even if you can't find the words, He will intercede for you and work all things for your good.

I don't know about you, but that makes everything so much easier to handle.

Helen Bound

After church this morning, my family is going to Helen to go tubing!!
Can't wait to be riding down the river.
Such a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Good Times with Good Friends

This past Wednesday, I was able to take a day trip with my mom and Mrs. Andrea, her good friend from church. Mrs. Andrea has a mountain/lake house in Clayton, GA right by Lake Burton (fitting, don't ya think?!).

On the way up, we stopped at The Dillard House for lunch. This is a family style, all-you-can-eat, southern food restaurant. They bring all the food to your table and you eat until you can't eat no more!

Sweet tea in a mason jar. Can't get much
more southern than that.

Coconut Cream Pie

Her house is absolutely beautiful and has a gorgeous view.

View from the back porch

I thought this idea was genius. Hang lanterns and candles from a ladder for a perfect centerpiece on the porch.

I will have a hanging bed in my house one day. Even if I have to force someone kindly ask someone to make it for me.

Some of our good friends, the Turners, were staying at the house for the week. I absolutely LOVE them! Michael was our music pastor a few years back. He and his sweet wife, Heather, have a little boy who is almost two. Oh.my.word. he is precious. He is a ball of energy for sure.

We had so much fun catching up on life and just enjoying each others company. We are definitely going to get together again soon!

Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden

Have you ever heard that saying? Know what it stands for?
If you guessed "GOLF" then you would be correct.

All of the men in my family love golf.
They play all the time.
I think they're obsessed.
To prove this point, let me tell you what I just did.
I just finished uploading Zeb's golf swing to YouTube. So if you want to see him in action, click here. You can also check out his friend Will here.

I went with Callaway (my middle brother) yesterday to Cedar Lake Golf Club. I am not a very good golfer so I decided to just read on this trip. (Although if I had brought my golf shoes back from Athens, I probably would have played.)

This one landed right on the path.

Don't worry; he didn't really hit from here.

So relaxing.

I made sure to document Cal's best game ever. He shot an 86.
Not bad for a 14 year old.

Friday Favorites

I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but here in Athens, it's a dreary day. There is no sun, the clouds are gray, and it has been sprinkling all morning.
That's all the more reason for me to write this post. It always cheers me up!
So let's get down to it.

Favorite Recipe: Mozzarella Sticks

via
We all know how good these suckers are. Here's a simple recipe using only egg roll wrappers and string cheese. I haven't tried it yet, but it's going to happen soon.

Favorite Outfit Inspiration:

I love stripes. And turquoise. So this outfit is perfect! It is especially great for when I work because my office is always cold.

Favorite DIY Project: Toilet Paper Roll Art

via
This craft is so easy, it's just begging to be done. Smush (which apparently isn't a word, even though I say it all the time) the rolls into the shape you want. Then glue them together to make your design.
I've already started collecting empty rolls for mine. 3 down, 257 more to go.

Favorite Song: God Gave Me You

For all you Dave Barnes fans, you know he wrote this song. You probably also know Blake Shelton put it on his new album. I love the original so I wasn't sure if I would like the country version as much. But I heard it yesterday and absolutely love it! Listen to it here.
You can also read Dave's opinion about it here. Dave is a funny guy so this is worth a read.

Happy Friday!
Have a wonderful, safe weekend!

I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good.

Well Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was awesome.
But did you expect anything else?!
I'm so sad to see this come to an end.
Now I need to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Then my life will be complete.

Did anybody else see the premiere tonight?
I hope you were as happy with it as I was.

I'm Baaaacckkk

Sadly, vacation is over. Ten days may seem like a long vacation, but it goes by WAY too fast.

While at the beach, I discovered one of my flaws: I don't take enough pictures. Maybe I should rephrase that. I don't take hardly any pictures. I have a camera so I can't even use that as an excuse. I guess I just get so caught up in having fun that I don't want to stop to document it.

So that is my new year's resolution: to take more pictures.

Here are some of the few I took this past week:

Copper REALLY loved the sand

Zeb, Cal, and Will

Zeb gave Cal a new look this past week. He now has a frat-boy haircut and it makes him look five years older. My parents aren't huge fans, but we (meaning Zeb, his friend Will, and me) think it is awesome.
{Sidenote: Callaway is going into high school this year. Seriously?! He is growing up way too fast. And I don't just mean age-wise. He is 6'2.5" and still growing. I swear he is going to be a giant.}

Obviously Zeb wasn't very gentle

In case you couldn't tell from the last two pictures, my family likes to read. I read eight books on this trip, my favorite being "The Help". Fortunately, this book is being made into a movie. I definitely recommend it.

I know I just got back from the beach, but I cannot wait to go back. Fortunately for me, I have another trip planned August 5-8. I'm going to see my best friend in Alabama. Road trip!

And the countdown begins.
