Together We Are a Force for Good

Today was the last day of Passion. To say I'm tired is a huge understatement.
But I am so excited about what God is doing in the lives of this generation.
This is my third year of going to the conference. Each year, I am blown away by the number of 18-25 year olds who just want to serve the Lord in mighty ways.
This year was completely different from the other years.
I learned more about who God is and how He desperately loves His people.

The theme this year was freedom. There are 27 million slaves in the world today; more than ever in the history of the world.
The goal was to raise awareness and support efforts to end this horrible situation.

Together, we are a force for good.
This year, over 44,000 gathered at the Georgia Dome for the conference.
In just four days, we raised $2.6 million.
$2.6 million from poor college students!
How incredible is that?!

I can't wait to see how God is going to work in this situation. I truly believe this generation could be the one to end slavery.
No one should ever count us out.
Passion conferences clearly prove that.

In the International Plaza in the middle of Atlanta, there is a 103-foot statue of a hand. This article, posted by CNN, tells the purpose of the statue.
That night was incredible. All 44,000 of us waited outside for almost an hour in silence, reflecting on all we had learned and praying for God to save those in bondage.

I know that sounds crazy. College kids can be silent for an hour? When the cause is great, then yes. Yes they can.

If you want to read more about Passion and the causes we are supporting, here is their website. I love this organization and am so grateful to support what they are doing.

We need to do something now!
It's time to end slavery once and for all.
