First day of the rest of my life

via

So yesterday was the start of the school year.
My junior year of college.
Excuse me, what?!
I should not be this old.

Anyways...I'm finally taking the real education classes and y'all, I am absolutely loving it!!! The teachers are awesome, the content is interesting (as it should be, considering this is my major), and my classmates are super nice. That's the thing about Early Childhood Education majors: they are all friendly and personable. Best major ever!

I'm currently sitting in my technology class waiting for it to start. It is supposed to be about technology in the classroom. Hopefully I'll get some good ideas for when I start teaching!

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday!!

Snail Mail Swap

A couple of weeks ago, I participated in a snail mail swap. Meghan from little girl in the big world hosted this swap and she paired me up with another blogger. We swapped addresses and sent each other a small gift.
I LOVE getting real mail! So of course I was all for this. I was also excited because this gave me an excuse to craft.

I was paired with Elle from a great lifestyle blog, who also happens to be a Dawg fan.
She sent me beach in a bag!

She also included a note describing how she uses each item. The items were Wonderwaves hair spray, coconut lime fragrance mist, morning burst facial scrub, Times Square nail polish, and Golden Sunset eye enhancers.

I have already used some of these products and they definitely make me think of summer. I'll be using these as long as they last, therefore making summer last longer.

Go on over to little girl in the big world to check out the other swaps!

Quick Update

First of all...it is the last weekend of summer for me.
Seriously?! Where did it go?!

I have been crazy busy this week.
-Beach Trip-
-Lake Trip-
-Mayfield Dairy Farm-
-New Computer-
-Moving to Athens-
That's just a taste of what's been going on.

Tomorrow is my official move-in date so I will be packing/unpacking all. day. long.

Hopefully I'll be able to sit down tomorrow night and get some posts out.

Until then, here's a video I think is hilarious. My younger brother, Callaway, is taking German this year. He has been singing this around the house all week. Hopefully you'll think it's entertaining. It is much funnier to see a 6'3" man-child sing it while dancing around.

Final Summer Festivities

Summer is almost over! So sad! I got back from Alabama last night and in about 15 minutes, I'll be going to Lake Jackson with two of my good friends from high school.

I can't wait to spend a few days with these awesome ladies. We have such fun girl time together. And where better to have it than at the lake?!

I'll be gone until Thursday. Then Friday I'll be packing up to move to Athens on Saturday. I cannot believe this is my last week of summer. It has flown by so fast!

Hope everyone is having a great last few days of summer!

Two posts in one day?! What is this world coming to?!
Just kidding. I'm stepping up my game.

Favorite Deal: Borders
Did you know Borders is going out of business? I didn't until last week. {I know, I know. I need to get out more.} I went last night and spent over 2 hours looking around. Totally lost track of time. I did get four books, though. One was "True Whit", a style book by Whitney Port. She's from The Hills so obviously I love her.

Favorite Inspirational Quote:
When you compare yourself to others, you're only comparing your worst to their best.

Favorite Countdown: Gossip Girl
52 days people!!!

How cute is this?!

Favorite Dress:

Stripes, cute pattern, cute shape. What's not to love?

And there you go. My favorite things from this hot week in August. Next time I see you, I'll be tan and caught up on sleep. Hopefully.

Happy Weekend!

Slacker Slacker

I have been seriously slacking this week. With blog posts, I mean.
In all actuality, I've been crazy busy. I have 50 prepoffesional hours due for education school by August 19. I have been working in Athens every morning, then driving back to Grayson to work in the elementary school.
Every. Day.
That averages out to 2 hours on the road.
Each. Day.
I guess you could say I'm exhausted.

But the good news is, I'm going to Alabama tonight! {Tonight because I have to work before we leave. Such a hard life I lead.} Who's in Alabama you ask? Well let me tell you. My best friend Kristal, that's who! I am going with three of my other friends to visit Kristal and her family. And I can't wait!
I just may be passed out the whole drive down.

While in the good ole' state of Alabama {cue the music}, I plan on falling asleep on the beach, sleeping in late, falling asleep watching movies, etc. You get the idea.
But seriously, it's going to be a good trip. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures!

Any fun last minute summer plans???

Hydrangea...Can't Stand Ya

Anybody remember "While You Were Out" on TLC? I was OBSESSED with that show.
Leslie Segrete was too cute for words.

She was decorating with hydrangeas one episode and said "Ugh. Hydrangeas can't stand ya."
I have always agreed with her.
Until now.
I may be having a change of heart.

What are your thoughts? In love with the blooms?
